The Bailout

The worst economic times since the Depression. That’s what some are saying, others feel that more opportunity exists today that ever before. Personally, I fall into the later group.

What bothers me most is that we’re not seeing solutions to this crisis coming from anyone except Poulson and/or congress. Well maybe the President’s office but frankly, they’ve already made to many mistakes. What about private equity? What about Funds? What about Tax Breaks?

Before you panic, think of this for a moment. If we turn over $700 B or any amount, how long will it take to recoup that? Instead, why not give those who have the money a tax incentive to buy distressed property? Why not give people with money that can spend their own, instead of ours, a break on their tax bill if they will buy property? Won’t this get capital circulating again? Won’t this eliminate another act that will only weaken the dollar against all other currencies.

Why does it have to be the Gov’t. that changes, why can’t they give us an incentive to make the change and solve the problem? Hey Congress! Give us a great tax break and we’ll buy every house that’s in default. This problem will go away faster than you can say, CMO.

Do you agree? Or, do you disagree? Why?
